Kent A. Showalter III

Kent A. Showalter III is a native Floridian, born in Sanford, Florida. He received his undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of Florida in 1992. He subsequently earned his Juris Doctorate, also with honors, at the University of Florida College of Law in 1995. He is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts.

Kent is a Supervising Attorney and the Administrating attorney for the LegalShieldSM division of DSK Law, the North Florida provider for Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. doing business as LegalShieldSM. He has been with DSK Law assisting LegalShieldSM members since 2000.

Kent is a past recipient of the LegalShieldSM Member’s Choice Award, and he was awarded the Leadership Award by LegalShieldSM in 2007, 2008, and 2012. Kent was recognized as the LegalShieldSM WOW! Trainer of the Year in 2008, and he was awarded the LegalShieldSM WOW! Committee Chairman Award in 2011. In 2012, LegalShieldSM awarded Kent the Award of Excellence.

Kent was appointed to the Prepaid Legal Services Committee of the Florida Bar in 2010, and subsequently served as the Program Chair for the Committee’s Annual Continuing Legal Education Program presented at the Annual Florida Bar Convention in 2011 and 2012. He served as Vice Chair in 2013 and 2014, and Committee Chair in 2015 and 2016. Kent was recognized by The Florida Bar for his outstanding pro bono service in 2010 and 2012, and for his contributions to the Florida Bar Prepaid Legal Services Committee in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Kent has presented at numerous Florida Bar Conventions and LegalShieldSM conferences. He recently presented at the 2019 Elevate by LegalShieldSM conference in Denver, Colorado on the topic of Emotional Intelligence in the field of legal services. Kent also regularly presents on the topic of estate planning.
