Bart Valdes Continues Leadership in Statewide Task Force and in Florida Bar Section

Bart Valdes represented the Firm at the recent Winter Meeting of the Florida Bar.  Bart sits on the Executive Council of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar and is also the Chairman of the Proposed Amendments to the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure Task Force.  As Chairman of the Task Force, Bart is working on amendments that will be proposed to govern the just, speedy and inexpensive resolution of lawsuits in the State of Florida. Hugo de Beaubien Out in the Community

Hugo de Beaubien worked as a volunteer with fellow Kiwanians at the 53rd annual Kiwanis Kumquat Bowl, securing the admissions gate and selling delicious grilled items from the snack bar. Twenty-four top Pop Warner youth teams competed over 2 days at Bishop Moore High School in 12 games for the title of league champion in the Central Florida area in their respective size and age categories. David Simmons presented to the Business Law Committee of the Orange County Bar Association recently in a panel discussion regarding the Business Court’s closure and the judicial funding problem. David concluded the roundtable session with a Chinese proverb; “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. This year the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association raised over $50,000 from sponsorships, including a donation from DSK Law! The firm recently sponsored the Brew Ha, Ha Tampa Bay charity benefit put on by the Tampa Interbay Rotary Club.  Partner, Bart Valdes, and new associate attorney, Chris Hill, attended the event on behalf of the firm.  Bart Valdes founded the Brew Ha, Ha during his term as President of the Tampa Interbay Rotary Club and since its inception it has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Starting Right, Now to support its mission to end youth homelessness. DSK Law’s employees raise money every month for a different charity or organization in need. This month DSK Law raised money to benefit Freedom Ride in Orlando, which provides therapeutic horse riding to adults and children four years and older with Spina Bifida, Autism, Down Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, developmental disabilities, brain injury, speech-language disorders, among others.  #DSKcares Read More »
